Advertising Your Property

For RentWhile most tenants will look on the internet to find somewhere to rent, good ole fashioned newspapers are also a valuable source so when advertising your property for rent consider state and local newspapers.

However the internet is KING!!!

You can list your rental property by location, size, $$ etc and include photos.

Landlord Specialists have partnered with Rent.com.au to offer our members a discounted rate. Rent.com.au is Australia’s #1 Property website. Use the Contact Us page for further information and the discount code.

If your property is vacant it is a good idea to provide only general details of the location e.g. suburb, so as to not invite burglars.

Rental Bidding:

What is rent bidding?is when a Tenant, Landlord or Agent negotiates the price of a rental property as opposed to setting a fixed price.

It is a requirement that lessors and agents must state a fixed price when advertising rental properties. This means that ‘rent ranges’ (such as ‘from $250-$270 per week’) and auction-style bidding for rental properties are not allowed (except NT).

(NT) Some people may consider rent bidding unfair, however, it is not prohibited or illegal in the Northern Territory.

Even so, property agents and landlords must not mislead or deceive prospective tenants.
