Keeping Records

Keeping records is essential.

Be sure you keep records of all tenancy agreements and payments, Bond information, entry, exit and periodical condition reports, photo’s, rent receipts, maintenance / cleaning receipts and all other relevant e-mail or mail.

Keep a record of any correspondence between you and your tenant/s, both correspondence in writing and make notes of verbal discussions (dated) also.

Rent Receipts and a separate Rent Record must be kept for at least 12 months. It is advisable that receipts be kept by both parties until after the end of the tenancy.

Keep track of when your rent payments are due.
